Originally from the white sand beaches of Florida, the now Atlanta-based Melissa Brethauer (pronounced BRETT-how-er) plays out regularly at local venues, and has also played in Nashville, on the Las Vegas strip, in Alabama, and Florida, with an upcoming opportunity Oklahoma City. From coffee houses to wine bars & restaurants, all the way to the House of Blues and even an audience that included John Rich (of Big & Rich) and John Legend, Melissa continues to make quite a statement with her soulful voice and diverse style.
Melissa is the total package: sings, plays guitar & piano, and writes her own music & lyrics.
With her first CD, “Waiting,” behind her, Melissa in July 2013 began recording her next album at GrooveTunes Studios, near Atlanta.
Coupled with the heightened media attention plus the numerous shows on her calendar, 2013 has been her busiest year in music so far, with much ahead. She was anticipating her fourth straight year at the prestigious Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival in November 2013, and only a scheduling conflict would prevent her from a fourth straight appearance at the Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival.
Melissa’s music has been purchased by listeners from Florida to New York to Texas, California, Hawaii, Japan, and even Europe.
